Top Three Bucket List Items At Disneyland Paris
Hi, travelers!
Welcome to the Disneyland Paris section of our blog! I just want to preface that neither of us have been to Disneyland Paris, but we are hopeful that we will get there soon. Until then, we will be writing about what we want to do, what excites us about the park, and any news. As Disney fans and best friends, it has been a dream of ours to experience the parks together. So far we have hit Walt Disney World and Disneyland, so our next stop will hopefully be Paris!
This post is going to be the top 3 things each of us want to do when we get to Disneyland Paris. With the new construction and countless hours of watching Disneyland Paris vlogs (shoutout Sam4God who has been my favorite since 2013/2014), we are going to compile a list of the top three things each of us want to experience the most. This can be anything from entertainment, food, attractions, or even shopping!
Ryan’s Top Three
Phantom Manor
Both Lillian and I are starting with an attraction that we are excited for! Nearly every Disney
park around the world, excluding Shanghai Disneyland, has a version of the Haunted Mansion attraction. Phantom Manor is the equivalent at Disneyland Paris. Some key differences between Phantom Manor and Haunted Mansion is the land and the story. Phantom Manor is set in Frontierland, so the outside of the manor is a rundown western building that follows the same storyline as the other attractions in Frontierland with the Ravenswood family. The theme of Phantom Manor is less “happy haunts” and has some more intense moments. However, it's not all different, with fan favorite scenes like the stretching room and Madam Leoda’s seance. I am excited to one day compare and contrast the experience of both!
Resort Hop
One of my favorite activities at Walt Disney World is resort hopping, so in Paris, I would like to do the same! Disneyland Paris has seven hotels: The Disneyland Hotel, Sequoia Lodge, Hotel Cheyanne, Hotel New York, Newport Bay, Davy Crockett Ranch, and Hotel Santa Fe. I really would like to visit all of the hotels, however, if I had to choose at least two to visit, it would be Disneyland Hotel and Hotel New York. The Disneyland Hotel sits at the front of the park and is breathtaking. This 5-star property welcomes guests into their lobby themed after an elegant library, has a kids club, a version of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and two fine dining restaurants. This hotel is the definition of storybook luxury. The Hotel New York has been recently renovated and rethemed. This metropolitan inspired hotel has several dining and lounge offerings all in the theme of Marvel! There are superhero meet and greets and a kids club for the little ones! These seem like such amazing hotels that I can’t wait to visit.
Nighttime Entertainment
Who doesn’t love stopping and watching an amazing show full of lights and pyrotechnics after a long park day? Currently Disneyland Paris has two nighttime spectaculars: Disney Cascade of Lights at Disney Adventure World Park and Disney Tales of Magic at Disneyland Park. Disney Cascade of Lights is the newest addition and it features the stories of Disney/PIXAR heroes. This show has it all; fireworks, water projections, and drones! It sounds like a mix of Fantasmic!, World of Color, and Happily Ever After, and that’s pretty cool. Disney Tales of Magic leads guests through a storybook journey of classic and modern tales, including Encanto, Lilo and Stitch, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. They have some big shoes to fill after watching Happily Ever After at Walt Disney World and World of Color at Disney’s California Adventure, but I know they will be amazing!
Lillian’s Top Three
Hyperspace Mountain
Anyone who knows me knows that I love a good rollercoaster! I’m personally obsessed with the fact that in Disneyland Paris, their Space Mountain ride is Star Wars themed! Going fast on a coaster is one thing, but going fast in the dark as John Williams’s score plays is probably an incredible experience. I also really love how some parts of the coaster are outdoor, making it a really unique indoor-outdoor ride! It doesn’t matter how long I’d have to wait in line, I definitely want to fit this into my itinerary!
The sleeping beauty castle
When I was in high school, I saw a time lapse video of the sunrise over the castle in Disneyland Paris, and it altered my brain chemistry. I might be like some of those people who cry when turning the corner and seeing the castle, I can’t lie. It looks so beautiful, with its pink exterior, gold accents, and bright blue roofs. I also can’t wait to walk around inside and witness the stained glass for the first time! Every video I see of people strolling through Sleeping Beauty castle in Paris looks like a dream.
Bistrot Chez Rémy
Okay, okay, I hear you: one of the top things you’re looking forward to is a restaurant?! Yes! Ratatouille has been my favorite Pixar movie since I first saw it as a child, and when I heard that there was a restaurant themed after it in Paris?! I just know I have to go there. The theming is incredible, with oversized plates and utensils surrounding you, making you feel as if you are the size of a little rat. It literally looks like how Remy’s restaurant above Gusteau’s looks at the end of the movie! I can’t wait to eat a meal there and feel fully immersed in the world of the film.
I hope you all are just as excited as we are to hopefully experience Disneyland Paris soon! There is so much to do at all of the Disney Parks, and we understand that it can be stressful and overwhelming trying to plan a trip, especially in another country. There are so many changes happening at Disneyland Paris and we hope we can take a trip there soon and let you know how it is! Until then, we will fill you in on news, updates, and preparing!
Happiest wishes,
