Is the One-Bedroom Villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa Worth It?

Read this and find out!

Hello, travelers!

Walt Disney World has a plethora of hotels, so it can be very overwhelming trying to decide which one is the best fit for you and your vacation. I had a trip in June 2026 and stayed at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. My goal is not only to show you the beauty of this resort, but (spoiler alert!) also to let you know that you should keep this one on your Disney resort radar.

BACKGROUND

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa opened to the public in May of 2004 as a Disney Vacation Club Resort. For those who don’t know, Disney Vacation Club is a point-based time share for Disney properties worldwide. Since they are vacation villas, these rooms are different from standard hotel rooms. Each room is equipped with either a full kitchen or kitchenette, so you can make meals in the room if you’d like!

Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is massive with 18 buildings of villas, 4 pools, several restaurants, a spa, community hall, bike rentals, treehouse villas, and so much more. It’s based on the simple life and charm of the Northern New York town of the same name. Saratoga Springs, NY is known for its racetrack and equestrian presence, so you know this resort is full of homages to all things horse racing.

I believe that this is one of the most beautiful resorts on property. The lush greenery and picturesque ponds with fountains make for the perfect morning walk/run. There are so many spots to take in the beauty of the resort with little benches and walking paths.

ROOM TOUR AND AMENITIES

I stayed in a one-bedroom villa and (disclaimer) this is not the first time I have done so at this resort. Just warning you all now, I am pretty biased when it comes to this resort because I genuinely love it so much. This room has everything you will ever need for your Walt Disney World Vacation.

When you first walk in, there is a rack on the wall so you can hang your park bags, hats, and jackets, which is perfect when running out the door to make it to the bus stop on time. Once stepping fully into the room, you are met with a full-sized kitchen and breakfast nook. This kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, cutlery, pots, pans, and plate ware. The only thing you need are the ingredients! Cleaning up is easy with a dishwasher and sink. The breakfast nook is so cute and is the perfect spot to spend time with your friends and family over a nice meal (whether cooked in the room or from the quick-service restaurant). My favorite detail is the light fixture above the dining room table is made of leather straps like you would find on a horse’s saddle. It's little things like this that make a Disney resort stand out from a regular hotel room.

Stepping into the living area, you are met with a spacious room, complete with a couch, TV, and balcony area. Another amazing feature that Disney has been utilizing in their new constructions is a murphy-style bed they call a “nova bed.” There are handlebars on each side of the white wall above the couch which you pull down and reveal a queen sized bed, so no more sleeper sofas! Have a little one in your family? Don’t worry, there’s a twin sized pull down bed underneath the TV too.

From the breakfast nook, the closet door nearby reveals a washer and dryer unit. This is one of my favorite perks when staying in a one-bedroom villa. You can throw your clothes in the wash after a long day at the park and you don’t have to worry about bringing home dirty laundry. Or, even better, if you bring basics like me, you can mix and match your outfits after washing them!

Off of the living room is the bathroom area. There’s a large corner shower with rainfall and handheld shower heads, a smaller vanity and sink area next to the shower, and a separate room with just the toilet, allowing for privacy. There is also a small coat closet with an iron and ironing board as well as a vacuum. The other side of the bathroom is a larger vanity area and massive soaker tub. If you’ve stayed here prior to 2021, you’ll know the tub used to have jacuzzi jets, but post the 2021 room refurbishments, they have moved to simply a deeper tub.

The bedroom is fitted with a king size bed, massive TV, and has so much storage that you could empty your suitcase and find a spot for every item! This room also continues with equestrian theme with a photo gallery of Mickey visiting racetracks, Congress Park, and other iconic Saratoga Springs locations. It’s very quaint and on brand!

VERDICT

Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa is classic and clean. There are so many Disney references without it being too in your face, so if you want more overt Disney references, this villa is probably not for you. However, the amenities are so comprehensive that they make up for any of the downsides of this room. I think if you are either a Disney Vacation Club Member or buying through a 3rd party website, I would highly recommend this one-bedroom villa for your next vacation. Whenever I stay here, I always want a rest day in the middle of my trip so I can just sit on the balcony with my book and relax. The calming nature of this resort mixed with the massive room and the in-room laundry (yes, I’m mentioning it again because I love it) is why you should absolutely choose this resort and this room type!

For our regular Disney travelers, the most comparable resort I’d equate this to is Old Key West. Both have a laid back vibe, similar transportation options, and underrated food spots.

We intend to make posts about each resort as a whole, not just the rooms, so stay tuned for more Walt Disney World Resorts content! I hope you all enjoyed seeing a one-bedroom villa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and hopefully this will convince you keep this resort on your radar when researching for your next Disney vacation.

Happy Travels,

Ryan
